Christina Kobland, president and founder of Native Return, LLC, (www.NativeReturn.com) will speak about native grassland and wildflower meadow installations, and the vital role they play in maintaining the ecological health of our communities. She will discuss in particular the environmental and economic benefits of converting traditional mowed lawns to native habitat, demonstrating how we can effectively share our land with wildlife.
Calvin Davenger, Deputy Director of Aviation, Planning and Environmental Stewardship, for the Philadelphia Division of Aviation, will introduce Christina and summarize her environmental initiatives for the Northeast Philadelphia Airport.
The lecture will be a joint meeting of Friends of Pennypack Park (FOPP) and Friend of Poquessing Watershed (FOPW) on Thursday, June 17th at 7:30 pm. It is a free event and the public is encouraged to attend. Free parking available.
